Managing landfill leachate is one of the most important problems with maintaining landfills. The aim of this study was to determine the influence on COD fraction of landfill leachate addition from 0,5% to 5% to raw wastewater. The results of this study show that soluble inert COD in wastewater and mixture wastewater with landfill leachate constituted the smallest percentage of total COD. Nonetheless this fraction (soluble inert COD) increased from 3% to 10% together with increasing addition of leachate. Particulate biodegradable COD (slowly biodegradable) constituted the largest percentage of total COD, average 59%, 52%, 64%, 52% and 49% for 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 3% and 5% landfill leachate addition respectively. Soluble biodegradable COD (readily biodegradable) remained at a similar level regardless of landfill leachate addition, and ranged between 23% - 38%. These studies are the key issue for determination of maximum leachate addition to wastewater.
