Women entrepreneurship is an important issue for both economic and social reasons. However cultural factors have an additional impact. In Poland women represent more than 50% of the population, nonetheless only 35% of people who run their own business are women. Main research questions in the current study were: What are the determinants of the above mentioned imparity? Do young women evaluate themselves as entrepreneurial? Do they have the motivation to establish and run their own business? What is their opinion about possible opportunities and barriers to taking entrepreneurial activity by young, educated women in Poland? Do women and men in Poland have the same chances of being self -employed? Research was conducted on a group of female graduate students at the faculty of management and economics. This studies allow students to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in managerial position. Additionally, attitudes developed during graduate studies should encourage positive assessment of entrepreneurial activity among students, as well as and increase their willingness to undertake such activities. Equally important is the fact that respondents will soon enter the labor market. Participants’ responses to administered questionnaire received to the questionnaire allowed to picture young Polish women’s opinion about opportunities and barriers for women entrepreneurship.
